What began as a mission to create a better-for-you snack that didn't ask you to choose between flavor and quality has grown into a brand built on three decades of craft, care, and a deep respect for what goes into every bag.
That philosophy shows up right on our ingredient labels and in the careful evaluation that happens behind the scenes to help ensure each Boulder Canyon product meets our quality standards.

We believe the best flavor and crunch come from carefully chosen ingredients. Whether it's a classic Thin & Crispy or a bold-flavored Canyon Cut, we always start with real, North American grown, Non-GMO Verified potatoes and thoughtfully selected ingredients to create the Boulder Canyon products you love. Knowing what goes into our chips is only part of the story.
Knowing where our ingredients come from — and holding our suppliers to high standards — is equally important.
We carefully select the suppliers we work with and maintain rigorous processes to evaluate the ingredients used in our products. Those standards extend throughout our supply chain and help us deliver the quality and consistency consumers expect from Boulder Canyon.
In addition to our Non-GMO potatoes, several Boulder Canyon products are fully Non-GMO Project Verified. For those products, an independent third-party reviews documentation for the ingredients used in the product as part of the verification process, with ongoing requirements to maintain verification. Long before avocado oil became a familiar sight in the snack aisle, Boulder Canyon was exploring distinctive cooking oils to create great-tasting, high-quality chips.
Our products made with avocado oil, olive oil and beef tallow are made exclusively with the oil or fat identified on the label — they are not mixed or blended with other oils or fats. We work with carefully selected, trusted suppliers and maintain rigorous supplier qualification and evaluation processes to help ensure the ingredients we receive meet our specifications. Our suppliers test the oil and tallow they provide us, and every lot used in our production is accompanied by a certificate of analysis.
Whether it’s the distinctive flavor of avocado or olive oil or the rich taste of beef tallow, each offers a different experience, but all are held to the same high-quality standard.
